Combining her passions for traveling, storytelling and photojournalism, Donna circumnavigated the globe in search of Muslims outside the Middle East. Immersing herself in their communities, identifying how Islam spread to each country and analyzing how it took root. From these experiences she documented contemporary Islam and examined the lives of Muslims around the world. Her book, Islam Through My Eyes, attempts to break through some of the stereotypes surrounding the fastest growing religion in the world. It offers an every day slice of life view into the lives of the followers of a religion that, despite having over one billion followers, is still misunderstood throughout most of the Western World.
