WORKSHOP on how to give ghusal to the deceased

Tentative Date: Saturday, June 30th, 2012

Where: Winnipeg Grand Mosque (2445 Waverely)

What to bring: Pen paper supplied
 
There is a need to train new brothers and sister to wash/ do Ghusal for the deceased Muslim/ Muslima.
We will teach you the theory and practice of how to perform GHUSAL. We will train as many brothers and sisters as are willing to volunteer to do this community service.
 
Dates and time will be confirmed according to how many people are interested.

SPRING CLEAN-UP!! JUNE 2, 9 AM TO 2 PM

Date & Time: 
SATURDAY, JUNE 2 - 9:00AM - 2:00PM

It's that time of year! The Masjid needs sprucing up for the Summer and in preparation for RAMADAN. Please come with your family and friends to help clean up the Masjid and make it shine! We'll leave no stone unturned inshaAllah! Here are some of the tasks we'll tackle:

- Clearing out garbage, old furniture, unused items

- freshening up the paint in some areas

- washing walls

- dusting wall and ceiling fixtures

- washing windows

- cleaning / sanitizing wudu sandals and water cans in washrooms
 

- planting flowers in the garden
 

...and anything else that needs to be done!

 

PLEASE COME! Allah will reward you for your efforts and lunch will be served inshaAllah!!

Prayer Rows are finished!

JazakAllahu Khaire to Br. Idris Knapp who did an excellent job in painting prayer rows on the new carpet. No excuses now brothers and sisters! Feet to feet, shoulder to shoulder :)

JANAZAH PRAYER (Funeral) at WCM - April 20, 2012

PLEASE NOTE:

A Janazah Prayer (Funeral) will take place at WCM on April 20, 2012.

Sr. Fatima Mohamed passed away.  Sr. Fatima migrated from Ethiopia many years ago, she is the mother of Sr. Nuria, Br. Osman, Br. Abdulbasit and grandmother of Asha and Ibrahim.  Janazah (funeral) prayer will be held tomorrow, April 20th after Jumma prayer (1:45 PM), at Winnipeg Central Mosque.
 
May Allah SWT shower her with His Mercy and Forgiveness and grant her Paradise. May He the Exalted grant her family patience and endurance. To Allah belongs what He Takes and to Allah belongs what He gives.
 
May Allah bless you all.

GREEN KHUTBAH Campaign

This Friday, April 20th, WCM will be participating in the GREEN KHUTBAH CAMPAIGN!

What is the ‘Think Green Khutbah Campaign’?
 
For Earth Day 2012, the ‘Think Green Khutbah Campaign’ is aiming to challenge Muslims to become stewards of the environment by making changes to their daily routines.
Religious leaders – Imams and Khateebs – are being asked, through the Khutbah (sermon) on Friday, April 20, 2012, to celebrate the blessings, graces and beauty of all of Allah’s creation and to raise awareness, in their congregation, on the environmental challenges facing humanity.
 
This weeks' khateeb is Br. Omar Siddiqui.
 
The ‘Think Green Khutbah Campaign’ challenge is to request all Muslims to live according to the 3 S plan:
 
a)    live a simple life
b)    live a sustainable life
c)    live as stewards of the environment
 
PLEASE continue to remind one another to reuse, reduce, recycle and apply the 3 S plan to our daily lives.  May Allah reward you for your efforts!
